Immediately After Treatment
- Expect mild swelling, redness, and tenderness — These are common and should resolve within a few hours to 2-3 days.
- Apply ice packs as needed — Use a cold compress for 10-15 minutes at a time to reduce swelling and discomfort.
- Stay upright for at least 4 hours — Avoid lying down or bending over to prevent the filler from migrating.
- Do not touch, massage, or apply pressure to the treated area — This will help maintain the filler in place.
First 24-48 Hours
- Avoid strenuous exercise and excessive sweating — No hot yoga, saunas, or heavy workouts, as these can increase swelling.
- Do not apply makeup or skincare treatments — Give the treated areas time to heal without any additional irritation.
- Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications — This can help reduce the risk of bruising.
- Continue to use SPF 30+ sunscreen — Protect your skin from sun damage and pigmentation while it heals.
Days 3-7: Healing Phase
- Mild swelling and bruising may persist — This is normal and will fade over the next few days.
- Keep the treated area moisturized — Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer to support healing.
- Do not massage the treated area — Avoid any pressure or manipulation, as it could affect the results.
- Resume gentle activities — You can return to normal activities but continue avoiding excessive sun or heat exposure.
After 1 Week & Beyond
- You can resume your normal skincare routine — Start reintroducing products like retinol, AHAs, and vitamin C, but avoid direct application to the treated areas for a week.
- Follow up for touch-ups if needed — Dermal filler results can be maintained with occasional touch-up treatments every 6-12 months.
- Maintain sun protection — Continue using SPF 30+ to protect your skin and prolong the effects of your dermal filler.
