Immediately After Treatment
- Expect mild swelling, redness, or bruising — This is common and will usually subside within a few hours to a couple of days.
- Ice packs can help — Apply a cold compress for 10-15 minutes at a time to reduce swelling and discomfort.
- Avoid touching or massaging the treated areas — This allows the dissolved filler to leave the area without disturbance.
First 24-48 Hours
- Avoid strenuous exercise or excessive sweating — Heat and physical activity can increase swelling and bruising.
- Do not apply makeup or skincare products — Let the treated area breathe and heal naturally for the first 24 hours.
- No facials or intense skin treatments — Give your skin time to recover before scheduling other aesthetic treatments.
- Use SPF 30+ daily — Protect your skin from sun exposure as it is more sensitive after the procedure.
Days 3-7: Healing Phase
- Mild swelling and bruising may persist — This is normal and will gradually resolve.
- Keep the treated area clean and hydrated — Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer to support healing.
- Do not massage the treated area — Avoid putting pressure on the area to ensure the filler continues to dissolve properly.
- Resume normal activities — After the first 48 hours, you can return to your regular skincare routine and gentle activities, but avoid direct sun exposure.
After 1 Week & Beyond
- Reassess your results — If necessary, a follow-up appointment will be scheduled to ensure all filler has been properly dissolved.
- Maintain a gentle skincare routine — Reintroduce active ingredients (retinoids, AHAs, etc.) only once healing is complete, and always protect your skin with SPF.
- Consider a filler touch-up — If you still wish to enhance facial volume, a new dermal filler treatment can be done after the area is fully healed.
