Immediately After Treatment
- Expect mild swelling, redness, or bruising — These are common side effects and will usually subside within a few hours to a few days.
- Apply ice packs if needed — Use a cold compress for 10-15 minutes at a time to reduce swelling and discomfort.
- Avoid touching, massaging, or applying pressure to the treated areas — Let the Sculptra settle naturally into the skin.
First 24-48 Hours
- Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat, and sweating — No hot yoga, saunas, or heavy workouts, as these can increase swelling.
- Do not apply makeup or skincare products — Let the treated area heal and breathe for the first 24 hours.
- Gently massage treated areas — Your provider will instruct you on when and how to massage the treated area. Massaging helps distribute the product evenly and stimulate collagen production.
- Wear SPF 30+ daily — Protect your skin from sun exposure, as your skin will be more sensitive after the treatment.
Days 3-7: Healing Phase
- Mild swelling, bruising, and lumps may occur — These are temporary and should gradually subside.
- Continue massaging the treated areas as directed — This helps the product integrate into your skin.
- Do not apply pressure or massage the area excessively — Avoid any aggressive manipulation of the treated areas.
- Hydrate and moisturize — Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated and support the healing process.
After 7 Days & Beyond
- Results begin to appear gradually — Sculptra stimulates collagen production over time, so you may see results 4-6 weeks after treatment. Full results typically appear after 3-6 months.
- Continue gentle skincare — You can resume your regular skincare routine once any initial swelling or bruising subsides.
- Follow-up treatments — Sculptra is usually done in a series of treatments (typically 2-3 sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart) for optimal results.
- Sun protection is crucial — Continue using SPF 30+ to protect your skin and prolong the effects of your treatment.
